The ship can carry 6,875 tonnes of marine diesel and 1,037 tonnes of aviation fuel for issue as well as solid stores for replenishment by heavy jackstay.

The ship can carry 6,875 tonnes of marine diesel and 1,037 tonnes of aviation fuel for issue as well as solid stores for replenishment by heavy jackstay.

HMS Tenacity (1972). A one-off 40 knot fast attack craft, built as a private venture by Vospers it was bought by RN to join the Scimitars in the Fast Training Squadron. As designed she has a 76mm gun and four Exocet, but the RN disarmed her for training. Completed 1973. Complement of 28. On Scrap list at Rosyth 1985-86. Sold to overseas millionaire for conversion to luxury vessel but sank while work was being done at Portished. Finally raised and scrapped in 2001

Israeli air strikes on Latakia Naval Base yesterday destroyed 6 Osa-II class fast attack craft of the Syrian Navy. (Soviet design dating from the 1960s)……..Of greater strategic significance, Russian warships of the ‘Mediterranean Sea Task Force’ previoulsy based in Tartus, have put to sea and in holding pattern off the coast (pending likely long voyage back to Baltic Sea).
