Australia, the UK and the USA have formally signed a Naval Nuclear Propulsion agreement that allows the sharing of highly sensitive submarine nuclear reactor and propulsion technology. This will allow the UK and US to transfer the material and equipment required for the safe and secure construction, operation, and sustainment of SSNs to Australia. AUKUS

On this day in 1968, the Leander Class Frigate HMS Scylla was launched at HMNB Devonport making her last major warship to be built there. Today warships and submarines are refitted there and Plymouth remains a Naval Engineering hub.
