The 6,000-tonne hull of HMS Cardiff was lowered into Loch Long and was moved back upriver to the Scotstown facility, where she joined her sister HMS Glasgow to be fitted out.

Now all retired from USN service, the Oliver Hazard Perry-class were simple and effective frigates built in large numbers between 1977-89. The design was exported to several global navies with many still active. ( Photo USS Thatch, 2009).

The attack submarine USS Parche (SSN 683) returns to port for the final time at the Marginal pier at Naval Base Kitsap, Wash. Parche, the last active Sturgeon-class attack submarine, is due to be decommissioned on October 19, 2004 after serving the fleet since 1973. Parche was configured for research and development from 1987-1991 and was used primary for intelligence gathering and underwater salvage.
