On this day in 1966, HMS Ulster, which had damaged her stern, received the 25 ton entire stern section of her sister HMS Urchin in dock at HMNB Devonport. The amazing engineering task, which included machinery and steering gear, took only 2 hours! HMS Ulster was ready to sail soon after.
