The mothballed USS Daniel (DE-335) and USS Merrill (DE-392) in 1960. These were WWII Edsall class DEs. USS Daniel was only on duty for 2¼ years. It commissioned in 1944 and decommissioned in 1946; then sat idle for 28 years until being scrapped in 1974.
