On this day in 1968, the Leander Class Frigate HMS Scylla was launched at HMNB Devonport making her last major warship to be built there. Today warships and submarines are refitted there and Plymouth remains a Naval Engineering hub.

Japanese frigate JS Noshiro conducted a trilateral exercise with HMS_Tamar and HMAS Choules (Ex-RFA Largs Bay). This is the first joint exercise between the navies of Japan, the Royal Navy and Canada.
