Farewell, old girl. Ex-HMS Bristol was towed out of Portsmouth early this morning to be scrapped in Turkey. A one-off, supposed to be the lead ship of escorts for the cancelled CVA-01 aircraft carrier. Launched in 1969, served in the Falklands War. Paid off in 1991. Harbour training ship until 2020.
