This event occurred on the night of August 30, 2025, as the ship moved from the Pacific Ocean to the Caribbean Sea. Worse than described in the quoted tweet for the frigates of the Mariscal Sucre class. ARV General Soublette (F-24), a Lupo-class frigate of the Venezuelan Navy, is seen in a state of disrepair. The right hand ship sank after a collision with a German cruise ship. The Lupo-class frigates were originally built by Cantieri Navali Riuniti (CNR) for the Italian Navy, with some later acquired by other navies, including Venezuela.

Yesterday at Fincantieri’s Riva Trigoso site, the F589 ITS Emilio Bianchi a FREMM was launched. This being the last of 10 which were built for the Italian Navy. It is expected to enter service sometime in 2025 once outfitting reaches completion.
