Austro-Hungarian river monitor SMS Bodrog, a significant warship that fired the first shots of World War I. Built in Budapest in 1903, it was a Temes-class river monitor serving in the Austro-Hungarian Navy’s river flotilla.

On this day 40 yrs ago in 1985 HMS Caledonia, Artificer training site, paid off and training moved to HMS Sultan and HMS Collingwood. The site had been retained and was recently recommissioned. It serves the RN inScotland and the crews of new build and ships in refit at the nearby yard.
