The collision involving the USS Frank E. Evans (DD-754) on June 3, 1969. The destroyer USS Everett F. Larson (DD-830) is shown assisting the damaged ship. The stern section of the USS Frank E. Evans, which was cut in two during a collision with the Australian aircraft carrier HMAS Melbourne, is tied up alongside the Larson.
