On this day 120 years ago in 1905, Fort Blockhouse in Gosport passed from the British Army to the Royal Navy as Submarine base HMS Dolphin, to 1998. There has been a military presence at the site since 1431 due to its location at the mouth of Portsmouth Hbr. Due disposal this year.
