HMS Daring was the first of the Type 45 destroyers, designed primarily for air warfare and equipped with the Sea Viper missile system. The ship has undergone extensive maintenance and refit, including a Power Improvement Project (PIP) to address propulsion issues. As of August 2025, HMS Daring has been out of service for over 3,000 days and is preparing for sea trials before rejoining the fleet, potentially in early 2026.
