A set of fresh pics of newly built K-564 ‘Arkhangelsk’ SSGN is over with its sea-trials. It’s rumored that the SSGN to enter into Russian Navy this year despite old news told us that ‘Arkhangelsk’ would join Russian Navy in June 2025.

Refit costs for HMS Albion and HMS Bulwark revealed. In response to a parliamentary question from Mark Francois, Conservative MP for Rayleigh and Wickford, the Ministry of Defence (MOD) has disclosed the costs associated with refits for amphibious assault ships HMS Albion and HMS Bulwark since 2010. Maria Eagle, Minister of State for Defence, provided the figures, stating: “The total cost of refits to HMS Albion and HMS Bulwark since 2010 is £132.7 million. This excludes HMS Bulwark’s 2022-2025 refit, which was estimated to cost £72.1 million.”The case of HMS Bulwark is particularly notable. The vessel’s planned refit, intended to extend its operational life, was halted when the ship was retired before the work was completed. Eagle added: “As HMS Bulwark was retired before her refit was completed, the refit costs are under review.”

Today in 1921 HMS Victory made her penultimate move when she was moved from Portsmouth Harbour to No. 1 Basin as part of her preservation before making her final move to No 2 Dry Dock where she remains today.

Commissioned into the Romanian navy in September 2004, ex-HMS Coventry, ROS Regele Ferdinand was stripped of her Sea Wolf and Exocet and for such a large vessel carries very light armament. Together with her sister, ex-HMS London, ROS Regina Maria, they are frequent participants in NATO Black Sea exercises.

Today in 1999, HMS Bangor was commissioned. She was the last RN Ship to be accepted in the 20th Century. Of the 12 RN Sandown Class Minehunters built only BANGOR remains in service as mine-hunting moves towards autonomous vessels from mother ships.
