Ships of the United Shipbuilding Corporation in Service: The Diesel-Electric Submarine “Volkhov” Returns to its Home Port in Vladivostok
The submarine “Volkhov” has returned to Vladivostok after nearly 40 days of autonomous sailing. During this time, the crew travelled over 2,500 nautical miles underwater. After a short rest, the crew will resume scheduled voyages at sea as part of the Pacific Fleet.
The “Volkhov” diesel-electric submarine, Project 636, was built by the United Shipbuilding Corporation’s “Admiralty Shipyards” based on a design by the United Shipbuilding Corporation’s “Rubin” design bureau. This is the second ship in the series built for the Russian Pacific Fleet.
The submarine was delivered to the fleet in October 2020.
