The Royal Navy’s last single role minesweepers…… A forgotten flottilla are the twelve River class minesweepers built for the Royal Navy in the mid-1980s and largely crewed by the RNR. The end of the Cold-War and a downsizing of the RNR saw them sold in the 1990s.
