Bottsand-class oil recovery ship, a unique twin-hulled vessel operated by the German Navy. The ship’s bow can open up to 65 degrees, creating a V-shaped opening to collect oil-polluted seawater. The contaminated water is pumped into a 790 cubic meter tank, where the oil is separated. Each ship can clean up to 140 cubic meters of ocean surface per hour.
