For the first time in history, Ukraine’s Security Service, together with the Ukrainian Navy, struck and disabled a russian Kilo-class (Project 636.3 “Varshavyanka”) submarine in Novorossiysk using underwater drones.The cost of a Varshavyanka-class submarine is approximately $400million.

On this day 40 yrs ago in 1985 HMS Caledonia, Artificer training site, paid off and training moved to HMS Sultan and HMS Collingwood. The site had been retained and was recently recommissioned. It serves the RN inScotland and the crews of new build and ships in refit at the nearby yard.

The bow section of first Polish Miecznik (Type 31) frigate ORP Wicher was delivered to the PGZ construction hall in Gdynia this week.The ship is due to be delivered to the Polish Navy in 2029.

USS Fanshaw Bay (CVE-70), a Casablanca-class escort carrier.It was commissioned in December 1943 during World War II.The ship was built for rapid production and deployment.It served in the Mariana and Palau Islands campaign, the Battle of Samar, and the Battle of Okinawa.

An oil worker in the North Sea has captured incredible footage of a floating oil rig.The largest and deepest offshore platform ever built, called “Troll A” stands at about 303 m bellow sea level, and had a total height of 472 m.
