Service Life Extensions for Three Cruisers. The Department of the Navy plans to operate three Ticonderoga-class (CG 47) cruisers beyond their expected service life: USS Gettysburg (CG 64), USS Chosin (CG 65), and USS Cape St. George (CG 71). This decision adds 10 years of cumulative ship service life from fiscal year 2026 to 2029.

Belgian ship, BNS Louise-Marie will join the Standing NATO Maritime Group 1 (SNMG1), a permanent NATO maritime group. It will be responsible for patrols and will participate in two major exercises: Joint Warrior and Freezing Winds.

Today, 110 years ago in 1914 HMS Hermes was sank in the Channel by U-27 whilst delivering seaplanes. She was a Highflyer Class Cruiser and was lost with 21 of her crew killed. Remember.
