RFA Tidesurge and RFA Tidespring have joined up with HMSPWLS and the UK Carrier Strike Group. They are taking part in exercises off the UK coast alongside warships from Canada, Spain and Denmark as NATO’s Steadfast Defender 24.

On this day in 1916, 151 ships of the Royal Navy Grand Fleet & 99 ships of the German High Seas Fleet met at the Battle of Jutland. Britain claimed strategic victory under Admirals Jellicoe & Beatty, and Germany a numeric victory under Admirals Scheer & Von Hipper. 8645 sailors were lost from both sides.
