The reshaping of mine warfare in the Royal Navy has taken key steps forward with the testing of various autonomous equipment and new ways of using it on frontline operations. From testing crewless minehunting equipment in the Baltic to launching autonomous vessels in UK waters, it has been a busy year so far for the RN_MTXG (Mine & Threat Exploitation Group). The reshaping of mine warfare in the RoyalNavy has taken steps forward.
The 83-foot cutters 83401, renamed USCG 20, and the 83402, renamed USCG 21, were two of the sixty Coast Guard cutters sent to England to serve as rescue craft off each of the invasion beaches during the Normandy Invasion.

July 29th 1982: HMS Hecla returned to Devonport to a rapturous welcome from the families of her crew and those of the wounded men on board. Throughout the war, she served as a floating ambulance taking casualties from both sides to SS Uganda, and made three runs to Montevideo.
