Fin removed from ex-HMS Swiftsure in Rosyth. She is on course to be fully dismantled by end of 2026, the first nuclear submarine to be disposed of by the UK.Over 500 tonnes of conventional waste have already been removed and 90% of her total weight will be recycled. High-quality steel already recovered from decommissioned boats is being repurposed into components for future submarines.

Britain is to almost double its attack submarine fleet.
The UK’s Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carriers will be equipped with deck-launched long-range missiles and uncrewed aerial systems as part of sweeping upgrades to their strike capabilities, the Strategic Defence Review (SDR) has confirmed.
The Defence Secretary today confirmed the UK-led Carrier Strike Group is still in the Red Sea with at least one US destroyer (probably USS Truxton) in support of CSG25.
