On this day in 1983, the Royal Navy ceased Gunnery Training at the Fraser Range in Eastney, Portsmouth. Training was transferred to HMS Cambridge near Plymouth, which has also since closed leaving no RN live gunnery training establishments. Fraser is marked for private development.
