Ceremonial opening of the Janet Harvey Hall BAES Maritime in Govan, Glasgow, yesterday.This state of the art facility was built in 2 years and will support faster and more efficient construction of 2 Type 26 frigates simultaneously.A workforce of approximately 1,000 people will soon be working in 3 shifts in the hall to deliver the programme.Blocks of ship 3, HMS Belfast (left) and ship 4, HMS Birmingham (builtat Cammell Laird and A&P Tyne) are already inside.
