On this day in 2017, the Indian navy Carrier INS Viraat pays off, 58 years after being commissioned in to the Royal Navy as HMS Hermes. She was the longest serving aircraft carrier in the world. Perhaps most famous as Admiral Woodward’s flagship during the Falklands War.
