HMS Monmouth & HMS Trenchant In Feb 1996 they were deployed on OP SHARPSHOOTER – a secret mission tracking a Russian VICTOR 3 SSN off the UK coastline, which ended with RN personnel boarding the Russian boat. A sailor aboard the Victor III/project 671RTM b-448 Tambov developed symptoms of appendicitis. The Royal Navy evacuated the sailor by helicopter and provided medical treatment.

The Atlas advanced floating dry dock, which was christened by Bollinger Shipyards and General Dynamics Electric Boat.It is designed to support the U.S. Navy’s Columbia-class submarine program.Floating dry docks are used to lift vessels out of the water for maintenance and repairs, providing access to their hulls and undercarriages.
