The first ROMULUS Large Uncrewed Surface Vehicle (LUSV), currently under construction by Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) in Louisiana, has reached approximately 30% completion and is scheduled to begin sea trials later this year. ROMULUS is designed around a distributed production model, allowing construction by small shipyards across multiple locations. HII has partnered with Babcock to offer the LUSV integrated with Type 31 frigate operations, supporting enhanced interoperability and expanded operational flexibility for future surface fleets.

USS Birmingham (CL-62) at the Pearl Harbour Navy Yard on December 6, 1943. The photo shows damage to the port side of the vessel, which occurred during the Battle of Kolombangara in July 1943, when the cruiser USS St. Louis was torpedoed by a Japanese destroyer. Birmingham was part of the task force that assisted the damaged St. Louis.

The last meeting at sea between HMS Eagle and HMS Ark Royal (R09) in the Moray Firth, Scotland, March 1971. Eagle was involved in service release trials for the Harrier GR1, and Ark Royal had just completed her four year modernisation.
